Dear Parents and Friends of Clarion,

As we approach the last week of September, it is hard to believe that we're already reaching the end of the initial month of this academic year.. We would like to thank our parents for their wonderful support which has been very instrumental in the wonderful start we have experienced to this school year.

Here are some important updates and reminders:

1. CPC General Meeting/Parent Coffee Morning:

We would like to thank the parents who attended the Clarion Parent Committee (CPC) general meeting this past Thursday. We had a tremendous turnout for this meeting. The CPC at Clarion School has always been a highly active group that has provided tremendous support to our school through various initiatives and activities. We are very eager to collaborate with this year's CPC and look forward to a highly productive and exciting year.

2. Mock School Inspection:

In preparation for this year's KHDA inspection, we will be participating in a mock inspection from Monday, September 25, to Wednesday, September 27. Three consultants, who have served as school inspectors, will be visiting our classrooms and meeting with staff during these days. At the conclusion of this process, we will receive valuable feedback to assist us in preparing for the actual KHDA inspection, which may take place towards the end of October. The specific dates for the actual KHDA inspection are only shared with the school one week prior to the inspection.

3. Parent/Guardian ID Reminder:

Just a friendly reminder that parents are required to wear or present their Clarion Parent ID card whenever they enter the school premises. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and security of your children. Parent ID cards have been distributed to new parents and those who needed replacements this week. If you have not received your ID card, please contact Poonam in our Atrium to request one.

The health and safety of our students remain our topmost priority, and your continued support in adhering to these measures will contribute to building a safer school community.

4. UAE National Anthem:

Just a friendly reminder that all parents, visitors, students, and staff are required to stand at attention when the UAE national anthem is played at 8:00 AM each morning.

5. Student Absence and Lates:

To date, our student attendance remains positive; however, we need to work together to ensure that our students arrive on time to minimize any loss of instructional time. We kindly request parents' support in this regard.

For students who are absent due to illness, please inform their homeroom teacher with a copy to Poonam at admin@clarionschool.com and the school nurse at kballares@clarionschool.com.

Students arriving late (after 8:00 AM) should obtain a late pass from the Atrium before entering class.

6. Student Recess:

We will be moving to an outdoor recess for the morning and lunch recess effective Monday, September 25. However, in the event of exceptionally high temperatures and heat index on a particular day, we will opt to have recess indoors.

Please kindly ensure that you apply sunscreen to your child before sending them to school.

Additionally, make sure your child brings a refillable water bottle and a hat to school to ensure they stay hydrated and protected from the sun throughout the day.

7. Teacher-Led Activities (CCIs):

Our after-school activities have commenced. We kindly request that parents pick up their children at 4:00 PM on the days they have after-school activities and at 3:00 PM on the days they are not participating in any after-school activities.

Please contact Narsisa at nchamelo@clarionschool.com for more information.

This platform will provide our students with fantastic opportunities to participate in competitive sports. Additional information about these opportunities will be shared shortly.

8. Curriculum Night:

Our Curriculum Night will provide parents with an opportunity to learn about our curriculum and our plans for student assessments this year. Parents will also have a chance to visit with their child's homeroom teacher to learn about the specific grade- level program. Please appreciate that this is not the time for specific conversations with the homeroom teacher about individual children.
