The Art of Igniting Curiosity

Dear Clarion Parents,

As we enter the final week of classes for this school year, our MAP and other year-end assessments are complete or nearing completion. The results from both the IReady reading assessment and MAP assessments are very positive.

Our students have been busy putting the final touches on their culmination projects and preparing for their concerts. Our first grade 5–7 STEAM expo on Thursday, June 20, was a tremendous success. The remaining students will have their culminations and concerts during the week of June 24. Our students are very excited to celebrate and share their learning with you through these activities.

We are pleased to announce that, in addition to introducing a Grade 8 program, Clarion will also have a nursery program next year. This expansion on both ends of the spectrum highlights our school’s commitment to a very positive future. For more information about the nursery program, please contact Ms. Emily in our admissions office.

As we conclude the third week of June, we are reminded that we only have 6 school days remaining. The final day of school for our students is Monday, July 1. It is critical that our students attend school and arrive by 8 AM. We also ask parents to delay the start of their summer holiday until the last day of school to ensure your child participates in the year-end culmination and concert activities. Early departures negatively impact other students, especially if those leaving early are part of a group preparing for a culmination activity or have a role in a concert or drama production.

Also, we kindly remind our parents that while we appreciate your input, we are unable to accommodate specific teacher requests for the upcoming academic year. Teacher placements will be determined collaboratively, taking into account input from your child's current teacher and the phase head. We value your feedback and encourage you to provide your child’s current teacher with specific information that they believe should be considered as part of this process.

The 2024-2025 school year will begin on Monday, August 26, for students in K2 to Grade 8. Our PreK and K1 students will return to school on Monday, September 2, to provide time for home visits.

In closing, I wish our Clarion family a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on a bright and sunny Monday, June 24.

Sincerely,

Larry
